Lightning at the Grand Canyon

My first attempts to capture lightning in a photograph have met with success, thanks to some spectacular storms firing across the Canyon from my vantage point, and a sophisticated device that triggers my camera shutter in time to capture it.

It was after sunset last night, and the canyon below us was getting quite dark. Check out these lightning forks.

  1. It looks as if you had great success in catching those lightning bolts! Nicely done. The anticipation is as fun as discovering them on the photo! I really enjoyed my time there with Curt and Gary as I am sure you did as well! These are beautiful pics, Cathy!

    1. Thanks, Arlene. I enjoyed the workshop tremendously, and even I began it well prepared, I learned so much about shooting in very high dynamic range settings. I’m looking forward to getting home tomorrow and processing some images. I shot some infrared too! Cathy
